Our look at Laynie- October 26,2007

As we sat in the waiting room, awaiting our turn for the ultrasound, we noticed several things we had never really noticed before. For one, they have a FUN looking tent in the kids area, that Lacey and I seriously contemplated getting in and laying down and just enjoying laying in a tent. Coolness. Also, they played a video about the fact they have the lowest rate of C-sections, which was highly interesting. What really grabbed our attention, though, was the fact that we sat nearly an hour waiting. We watched people coming in and out of the "door" to the back area, and some were clearly upset. We immediately thought back to our day of change, October 3, and our hearts just went out to that family in all kinds of ways. As one woman walked out, I thought she looked very familiar and she smiled and me and called me by name, I thought, Oh dear, who is this?? and turns out it was someone I trained a few months ago. Her niece is 19 weeks pregnant and just found out that the baby's internal organs were outside the body and they couldn't find presence of legs. How painful for that family, and how shocking. We just sat there sooo sad for them, because we understood that shock and sorrow. So remember to pray for TroyLee's niece.....
So, on to the good stuff. Lacey had decided that she wanted No Bad News. Period. So as Director of Safety, I put out all the "No Bad Vibe" messages and we enjoyed our little girl in a wonderful way. She kept floating to the front of the screen, her little mouth going 900 mi an hour, as if to say "Hello, mom-- Hello, lolly-- look at ME!" She sucked on her fingers and it was just a miracle. She is up to 1 lb, 6 oz. (which is right on target) and the fluid level was up to a 7 (from a 4....found out it should be 15, which ignorance is bliss, because we thought we were fine at 4) so the fluid wasn't alarming. They have pretty much decided there isn't a cyst on her brain, we are dealing with fluid, and that is still there, but we'll just watch that and see if it resolves itself. Her head measures 20 weeks (she should be 24-25) but she is still a SMIDGE, but her arms measure 26 weeks (wow....she'll have arms like LOLLY, big ole long suckers) but all in all, there wasn't anything alarming in her visual look. Dr. Richardson tried to talk to us about her heart, but Lacey informed him she just wanted to enjoy her little girl today and that bad news would just have to wait for Brad to return. (He's in Houston training.) So, you know what?? What a beauty Lacey is cookin in there. What a blessing, what a wonder. I'm so in love with her already I can't even explain it.
We've all been really intent on praying for the brain issue.. I want everyone to refocus on her heart now. I truly think the brain issue will resolve itself, let's pray on her heart. What a miracle is a baby? People remain blissfully ignorant that ALL babies just happen and that's all there is to it, is just get pregnant and have a baby. A healthy baby is a miracle, and everyone should bless the creator for letting that happen. All I know is I enjoyed the show my granddaughter put on and I can hardly wait for the day I get to meet her face to face. God is Good......all, all, all the time.
